About the event
This singing workshop will centre around techniques for freeing and supporting your voice, tips for developing your musical ear and ways of vocally connecting and tuning in with yourself and fellow singers to create gorgeous balanced sound when singing in harmony.
We'll expore our voices from an embodied and an anatomical perspective, drawing from singing practices that can help us to see our whole bodies as our instrument to bring out qualities of sound that might have previously been hidden from us.
I believe that singing is the coming together of the logical and technical, with the emotional and ethereal, and by playing with these different angles we work out what helps us best to support, strengthen and free our voices.
There will be an extended stretching and movement warm up at the start of the afternoon, so come in loose, comfortable clothes, and bring a yoga mat or a blanket. If you are less able to move in this way you are still welcome to come along and I will give you some more localised stretches for the neck and shoulders.
Numbers will be limited in order for you to get as much out of the workshop as possible.
